How people use them

Built for farms, vineyards and home lots.

A container is a lockable steel building that shows up finished on delivery day, no concrete pad required. Here's how people around Charlottesville put them to work.

01

Farms and horse properties

Dry, lockable storage for feed, tack, tools and equipment, right by the barn. A 40 ft or high cube gives you the most room.

02

Vineyards and orchards

Secure storage for equipment, supplies and seasonal gear. A roll-up door makes it easy to get carts and small equipment in and out.

03

Homes

Garage overflow, a move, a renovation or a workshop. A 20 ft fits most home lots.

04

Contractors and businesses

Jobsite storage around Charlottesville and the growing towns nearby, plus overflow space for local businesses. Rent month to month or buy.

Delivery

What we check before delivery.

Foothill driveways and country lanes come with their own surprises. Text us a few photos of the route and we'll tell you what your site needs.

Steep and winding driveways

Out here, grade and switchbacks matter more than distance. Tell us how steep the drive is and where it turns. A 20 ft container needs about 70 ft of straight-line working room, a 40 ft about 120 ft.

Pastures and soft ground

A pasture that's firm in August can be soft in March. If the ground is saturated, we'll move the delivery date instead of rutting your field.

Gates, fences and farm lanes

Measure gate openings and look for culverts, ditches and low spots along the lane. Photos of the approach from the road help us plan.

Trees and overhead lines

We need about 13.5 ft of overhead clearance. Low limbs over a wooded drive and service lines running to a barn are the usual surprises.

The full checklist, with diagrams, is in our delivery guide.

FAQ

Charlottesville-area container questions.

Anything not covered here, call or text (804) 822-4610 and ask.

01Do you deliver to Charlottesville and Albemarle County?

Yes, and across Fluvanna, Orange, Greene, Madison and Nelson counties. Call or text (804) 822-4610 with your address for a delivered price.

02Can you deliver to a farm, vineyard or hillside property?

Often, yes, as long as the ground is firm and the truck can reach the spot safely. Steep grades and sharp turns matter most here, so send photos of the route from the road to where you want it. The driver walks it on delivery day and makes the final call, so have a Plan B spot in mind too.

03What size container is best for a farm?

For equipment and bulk storage, a 40 ft standard or 40 ft high cube gives you the most room, and a roll-up door can make it easier to get equipment in and out. A 20 ft works well for tools, feed and tighter spots. Call us and we'll help you size it.

04How much does delivery cost in the Charlottesville area?

Delivery is based on distance from our yard in Rockville. Call or text and we'll give you the complete delivered price.

05Do I need a permit for a container in my county?

Each county sets its own zoning rules, and some subdivisions have covenants. Check with your county zoning office, and your HOA if you have one, before delivery day.

06Is rent-to-own available in the Charlottesville area?

Yes. Standard containers delivered within 150 miles of our yard are $99 down through our partner My Container Rental, with no credit check. The Charlottesville area is inside that range, and we'll confirm it for your address. See rent-to-own.
