How people use them

Built for boats, farms and waterfront homes.

A container is a lockable steel building that shows up finished on delivery day, no concrete pad required. Here's how people on the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula put them to work.

01

Boats and marine gear

Lockable storage for outboards, kayaks, crab pots, fishing gear and dock supplies, close to the water. A roll-up door makes loading easier.

02

Farms and timber land

Dry, lockable storage for seed, tools and equipment on farms and timber land. A 40 ft or high cube gives you the most room.

03

Homes and weekend places

Garage overflow, a renovation, or secure storage at a second home. A 20 ft fits most home lots.

04

Contractors and businesses

Jobsite storage for builders and marine contractors, plus overflow space for shops, marinas and seasonal businesses. Rent month to month or buy.

Delivery

What we check before delivery.

Waterfront lots and low country roads come with their own surprises. Text us a few photos of the route and we'll tell you what your site needs.

Sandy soil and low ground

Sand can be firm when dry and soft when wet, and low spots near the marsh hold water. If the ground is saturated, we'll move the delivery date instead of rutting your yard.

Long, narrow lanes

Long, narrow drives down to the water are common. Tell us how long the drive is and whether it has tight turns. A 20 ft container needs about 70 ft of straight-line working room, a 40 ft about 120 ft.

Flood zones and setbacks

Many waterfront lots sit in a flood zone or have shoreline setbacks. Check with your county before you pick a spot, and keep the container on the highest ground you can.

Trees and overhead lines

We need about 13.5 ft of overhead clearance. Low limbs over a lane and service lines running to a house or boathouse are the usual surprises.

The full checklist, with diagrams, is in our delivery guide.

FAQ

Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula container questions.

Anything not covered here, call or text (804) 822-4610 and ask.

01Do you deliver to the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula?

Yes, across Gloucester, Mathews, Middlesex, King and Queen, Essex, Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond and Westmoreland counties. Call or text (804) 822-4610 with your address for a delivered price.

02Can you deliver to a waterfront or low-lying property?

Often, yes, as long as the ground is firm and the truck can reach the spot safely. Send photos of the route from the road to where you want it. The driver walks it on delivery day and makes the final call, so have a Plan B spot in mind too.

03What size container is best for boat and fishing gear?

A 20 ft holds outboards, kayaks, crab pots and fishing gear and fits most waterfront lots. For bulk storage or longer items, a 40 ft or 40 ft high cube gives you the most room. Call us and we'll help you size it.

04How much does delivery cost on the Northern Neck?

Delivery is based on distance from our yard in Rockville. Call or text and we'll give you the complete delivered price.

05Do I need a permit for a container near the water?

Each county sets its own zoning rules, and waterfront lots can have shoreline setbacks and flood zone requirements. Check with your county zoning office, and your HOA if you have one, before delivery day.

06Is rent-to-own available on the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula?

Yes. Standard containers delivered within 150 miles of our yard are $99 down through our partner My Container Rental, with no credit check. Both peninsulas are inside that range, and we'll confirm it for your address. See rent-to-own.
