How people use them

Built for farms, jobsites, homes and businesses.

A container is a lockable steel building that shows up finished on delivery day, no concrete pad required. Here's how people across the Valley put them to work.

01

Farms and acreage

Dry, lockable storage for feed, tools and equipment on farms in Rockingham, Augusta and Shenandoah counties. A 40 ft or high cube gives you the most room.

02

Homes and moves

Garage overflow, a renovation, a move or a workshop. A 20 ft fits most home lots, and it's a common pick for moves in and out of Harrisonburg and Staunton.

03

Contractors and builders

Lockable jobsite storage on new construction and renovation jobs from Waynesboro to Harrisonburg. Rent month to month and we'll pick it up when the job wraps.

04

Businesses

Inventory and equipment storage for shops and businesses along the I-81 and Route 11 corridors. Buy one outright or rent month to month.

Delivery

What we check before delivery.

Valley deliveries run from long farm lanes to hillside lots near the mountains, and each has its own surprises. Text us a few photos of the spot and we'll tell you what your site needs.

Long lanes and gates

Measure gate openings and look for culverts, ditches and low spots along the lane. A 20 ft container needs about 70 ft of straight-line working room, a 40 ft about 120 ft.

Hills and steep driveways

The truck needs a firm, fairly level spot to set the container down. Steep drives and side slopes are the usual problem near the mountains, so send us a photo from the road.

Winter weather

Snow, ice and soft ground after a thaw can push back a delivery date. We'll reschedule rather than risk your lane or the drive over Afton Mountain.

Trees and overhead lines

We need about 13.5 ft of overhead clearance. Low limbs over a driveway and service lines running to the house are the usual surprises.

The full checklist, with diagrams, is in our delivery guide.

FAQ

Shenandoah Valley container questions.

Anything not covered here, call or text (804) 822-4610 and ask.

01Do you deliver to Harrisonburg and Staunton?

Yes, and to Waynesboro and across Rockingham, Augusta, Shenandoah, Page and Rockbridge counties. Call or text (804) 822-4610 with your address for a delivered price.

02Can you deliver to a farm or hillside property?

Often, yes, as long as there's a firm, fairly level spot the truck can reach safely. Send photos of the route from the road to where you want it. The driver walks it on delivery day and makes the final call, so have a Plan B spot in mind too.

03What size container should I get?

A 20 ft fits most home lots and holds tools, gear and household overflow. For farm equipment or bulk materials, a 40 ft or 40 ft high cube gives you the most room. Call us and we'll help you size it.

04How much does delivery cost in the Shenandoah Valley?

Delivery is based on distance from our yard in Rockville. Call or text and we'll give you the complete delivered price.

05Do I need a permit or HOA approval?

Each county and the cities of Harrisonburg, Staunton and Waynesboro set their own zoning rules, and some subdivisions have covenants. Check with your local zoning office, and your HOA if you have one, before delivery day.

06Is rent-to-own available in the Shenandoah Valley?

Yes. Standard containers delivered within 150 miles of our yard are $99 down through our partner My Container Rental, with no credit check. Staunton, Waynesboro and Harrisonburg fall inside that range; some addresses farther north toward Woodstock may not, so we'll confirm it for yours. See rent-to-own.
